Many players would say it would be impossible to find a player who is tighter than Michael Mclinden. Well that was the case until February 2003 when Steve Young made his debut. Steve is probably the only player in history to have 200 chips in front of him while the blinds were at 1500 and still not go all in to double through.

In just his fifth appearance Steve made it to the final table then got down to the final two only to go heads up against the Current league champion Cush. In a result of Steve’s tight playing and being new to the game, he was the underdog at this stage because it was a heads up situation in which most players needed to be aggressive, which Cush is well known for. The battle went on for over 20 minutes and eventually Steve’s patience paid off and he claimed his first victory and proving he can beat the best and be the best.

Since most players now believe Steve would only bet with a monster hand, this gives him a big advantage and he uses this to the best of his abilities by bluffing when there is a big pot in front of him. By doing this he doesn't win many pots but when he does its one hell of a pot to count up. He has also never finished outside the final eight in the league and although his game play has changed slightly he will always stick to the tight strategy of game play as long as it keeps paying off. - March 2005.
