Andy made a cameo appearance in October 2005 after being convinced to play by his brother in-law who was no other then the pokercush.com tournament director ‘Cush’.

Andy from East Anglia was visiting with his wife and was looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  He had no intention of playing poker as he didn’t have the first clue on how to play it and also didn’t really want anything to do with poker.  After careful consideration from Cush’s proposal he decided to play.  The fact that Cush said you play or you can find a hotel for the night had nothing to do with Andy’s final decision.

With a 2 hour crash course on how to play poker Andy did not feel too confident.  But to much to his own surprise and many others he did very well.  With a total of 22 players entering the match he managed to not only end up on the final table but finish in a respectable 8th place giving him 1 point in the league. With one appearance in the league this season he managed to finish in joint 30th out of a total of 41 players.

Andy was asked after the match how he now felt about poker after competing in his very first match.  He summed up his feelings in one word.  “CLASS”!!!!

Since the game we have approached Andy’s better half and asked her how he’s doing.  She stated he has never shut up about how great it was playing poker and has tried to convince her they should come and visit every month so he can compete in next years league.  The fact that they would have to travel 260 miles each month to play might put Andy’s wife off the idea.  Well either way everybody at pokercush.com have stated that Andy is always welcome back at any time once he gets permission off his wife. - Jan 2006
